T.W.A.T. Description in Arabic

A big THANK YOU to Dalya Fakhri for the translation.

Rehearsals underway!

Rehearsals have begun in the run up to the August showing. I'm blessed to have an extremely talented cast and really enjoyed seeing the piece take form. It was great to start the process off in the Chapel space which felt very organic and allowed us to get a sense of the space from the get go.

I think the Chapel instantly adds another layer to the depth of the play as you can't help but feel spiritual in such an archaic building. The air of history it has could inspire a new play all by itself! Here's hoping I get bitten by a great idea for my next project.

Rehearsal pics up soon.

Call for artists!!

In an attempt to involve the local community in the performance event that we would like T.W.A.T to be, we are looking for artists and creatives to produce works around the concept of 'The War Against Terror' for exhibition in the Chapel space on the night of the production.

We would like to transform the space and would love your help to achieve this. We are looking for any forms that your ideas may take, be that photography, painting, sculpture, etc.

We want the exhibited work to act as a dialogue on this topic and we want to know WHAT you think about it!

If you would like to submit works for exhibit please get in touch with Jay via e-mail at beatplays@gmail.com

The chapel, an amazing urban venue, is to be transformed for an evening of war. This is a free event and there will be an opportunity to discuss the work and feedback to myself over a drink at the bar!

Follow the link below to check out the venue and the amazing work being done to create new opportunities for the local community.

T.W.A.T. The Premise........

The
War
Against
Terror
By Jamie Beattie

Anyone for a game of war??

In a time of great change, 3 women, 3 sisters, find their relationships tested to extremes in a 3 act blame game of EPIC proportions!!

'Enemies in war, in peace friends'

T.W.A.T. is an experimental analysis of the issues surrounding the war against terror and its effect on the nations represented by three women.

T.W.A.T. uses the medium of physical theatre to explore the conventions of games in war, and asks the question 'who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor?' are we all unwittingly players in the terrorism game?????
